    Talk about Everything 2013. 3. 9. 19:09

    Windhoke

    i has arrived at Windhoek.

i was cycling with Ray (From Hongkong) for a month.

i was hesitating whether leave or not in Livingstone... well. i decided to stay just one day more!...

then i spent lazy times on the sofa in Backpacker on afternoon...

hey are you "Erick?", guy who son of the hostel owner told me that...

"yes i am, what's up?", "hmm... there are phone call for you...", "What? who? okay give me the phone"

"Yes i'm Erick. who is it?"

"I'm Ray, Another cyclist just behind to you, i heard about you from swiss cyclist. i gonna get the backpackers tonight. can i meet up there?"

    "Sure!"

since that we've been cycling together till the windhoek...

he looked like 20s or 30s, but he's age is much more than i expect... but, i couldn't hide age of the his body.

After crossing the border between Zimbabwe and Botswana. Ray was caught to the cold. so spent little times in Kasane.

he've cycled like a Monster for me! usually before i meet him, i barely did 100km per a day.

but for him 1ookm is just normal... after meeting up him, usually we did 130-150km in a day, or sometimes we did 200km in a day!(it's just really hard!!!, i was almost dying...

"Kasane-Nata" is one of the most dangerous route in my trip, because of the wild animals...

fortunately, we got a life from the South Africa driver to 'Nata'. then i saw Lions, Hyenas, Elephants on the car...

we found the most beautiful and fantastic campsite in my trip near the 'Gewta' which is about 100km east from the 'Nata'

cheap but perfect campstie. and absolutely nice and silent place... lovely Bar in a reasonable price and fantastic foods...

"Baobab Planet" is Best campsite ever! even i miss that place now.

until the Border of Namibia, we cycled full speed to get there. because 'Ray' felt the really bored to cycling in Africa. normally we'd done 100-130km cycling on a day. but scenery was absolutely same as the yesterday.

Ray wanted to get a some lift, but i really didn't want to do that. so we decided to do 200km cycling for 2 days. when i did a 200km cycling on a day. i got the huge huge pain which is much much bigger ever than before.

After crossing the Namibian border, really annoying mosquitos has been vanished! maybe mosquitos also have a nationality.

first town in namibia is 'Gobabis', we stayed and loved this town which is nothing special to see, beautiful and even not famous. but it was just clean, quite and camping site that located at the side of supermarket which is opened till 10 p.m(someone might think why you mentioned supermarket opened till 10 pm, in Namibia, pretty huge supermarkets which are big as much as supermarket in korea normally will be closed at 6-7 pm!)

in additional to nice beef in a good price...

Finally i could see the windhoek, that is last capital visit in my trip. actually i was a person who is far away from the capital in korea. but i've been Capital in every country in this trip.

i left the my bicycle for a while, we organize the team and hired the car. then we started to go to Skeleton Coast line. Namib and Skeleton desert are one of the longest desert in the world. i found the "Pure Isolation" in the desert. Desert in Namibia was Fantastic Desert Ever!

after back to Windhoek. we just had a rest there. it was heavy rained on one day in Windhoek, bottom campsite in the our hostel was flooded. fortunately i pitched my tent in upper side, unfortunately Ray's tent and his bicycle was in Bottom side. so he decided to finish his cycling trip at the Windhoek.

now just about 1000km left to go to Cape town.

i can see the edge of my trip.... Almost there,

    to be continued...

'Baobob Planet!"

Baobob Plnet'
